The MD-80s & 717s will be retained for awhile. The 757s & 767s, however, may be parked, traded or sold off because their engines are not the same types used on AA's 757s & 767s. AA recently order 15 new 763s to replaced TWA's 767s. TWA's 757s were to have been traded to UA, if the merger between UA & USAir had gone ahead. Then AA would have picked up USAir's 757s. Now it's anyone guess what is going happen with them. Stay tuned...we'll all know something in the near future. Regards.
