AA Paint Schemes

Mon Aug 13, 2001 10:59 am

It seems like all the airlines are painting some of their select planes, all kinds of wild and crazy colors and cool designs. Yet 3 of the biggest airlines, AA, NW, and UA, have not made a cool looking plane. I've seen everything from whales to olymipic themes to the Simpsons and McDonalds. Will AA ever do something cool. They do however have their Astrojet scheme, but I'm looking for something more colorful.

AA's special scheme is that retrojet......

NWA actually does have some nice schemes,
their Northwest Cargo Division has the "3 speed select service" and another design i saw in airways magazine today.

Doesn't Northwest have a 747-400 painted in some "worldplane" scheme or something like that?

No it's a DC-10 I think. It's the cross between the KLM and the Northwest livery.

Correct me if I'm wrong! Big grin

The Northwest Worldplane is definately a 744, and has nothing to do with KLM. It shows all their Asian destinations and asian gateways: Tokyo, Beijing, Seoul, Jakarta, Honolulu, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seattle, NYC, Detroit, Chicago, san Fransisco, Mineapolis, Osaka, Memphis and LA.

It seems to me that AA just love thier silver plain color.. even thier "special Color Astrojet" is Silver!

I love silver and AA looks good, but I think there should be some coloring!

I would like to see AA put the AirCal paint on the planes servicing the West Coast north/south routes.

FYI:

The WorldPlane has been repainted in standard NWA livery.

thats correct braniff727. AA has the TWA/AA schem if you want to consider that as a paint job.
