Continental And MSP

Tue Aug 14, 2001 11:15 am

I have heard that CO has started to retire some of their 737s. When that happens, what plane will fly from EWR-MSP?? I'm guessing the new 737 series. It'd work out great.

Not True...Yet. Planes on the current retirement list are the DC-10s and, at a slower pace, MD-80s. The first 733s shouldn't see the gold watch until '04 or '05.

Well, technically, Continental is right, something like 4 or 5 737's I think are leaving soon. Two of them are 735's at the end of their lease or something like that. But that should be it for a while I think.

Truly? Haven't heard any inside talk about it .... but then, I'm not exactly part of the inner circle of fleet planning. If the retirement schedule I saw months ago is still correct, then this won't happen until sometime after December.

I'm glad to have that information, but what plane do you think will be used when the 737 stops flying to MSP from EWR and IAH??

The older 733s and 735s will be replaced by 73Gs and 738s of course.
