Which Commuters Have Autopilots, Which Don't?

Wed Aug 15, 2001 2:24 am

I'm curious to get a list of which turboprop aircraft does actually have an autopilot, and which ones don't. For example EMB-120, J-31, Merlin/Metroliner and ATP. If you fly these or a similar commuter please pass that along.

Thanks, Ryan

I believe all modern turboprop aircraft have autopilot. I fly a King Air and it is equipped with autopilot. Autopilot is getting to be common place on small GA aircraft as well.

Well In some aircraft like the B1900 the autopilot is optional, some airlines get it and some dont. I also know that the Saab 340 has an auto pilot. Hope this Helps! -Brett

Is that the tail number of the plane you learned to fly in? I saw it was a PA-28 based in Santa Rosa.

as a takeoff (no pun intended) to that question, what is it called when the flight computer is moving the throttle and flaps? Isn't there some term for it?
I saw it on a BAe 146 during landing. Thanks.
