When I flew out of JFK to St. Petersburg in 1992, it was with Aeroflot, and the gate and check-in were handled by Delta. The catering was as well, but it was not Delta food that was served. At the time, this many not have been the best thing as Aeroflot's "cuisine" left much to be desired. In San Francisco, Aeroflot's SFO-SVO flight was handled by Alaska Airlines in 1993. I wonder how it is determined what airline will handle what carrier's flights in this fashion?
