I will be flying on UAL 777 and would like to visit the cockpit.. I have requested to visit inflight but was denied by the capt. himself.. is it possible to visit the cockpit during the flight on UAL?

If you ask nicely, they might let you visit AFTER the plane is on the ground.

As mentioned above, the FAA prohibits it. All carriers registerd in the United States are not allowed to have passengers in the cockpit during the flight. Before the flight, or after the flight yes, but not during.

Rwy31R,

Visits to the cockpit on UAL flights are available before or after the flight (FA's like it better after the flight because people aren't boarding). In fact, I have flown UAL many times and The FA's are most of the time more than happy to let you see the cockpit after the flight. A few times when I have been taking picures inside the plane the FA's even asked me if I would like to see the cockpit (twice on 777 flights!). Have fun!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Best Regards,

Yea it's a no can do during flight on all US airlines. Sometimes if you're stuck at the gate and the pilot says something like (we're going to be sitting here for like a 1/2 hour until traffic/weather clears up etc. you can ask then if you're still at the gate and then you won't be buggin' anyone from boarding etc. I was in the cockpit talking for like 20 min on an Airbus 319 once on United before we took off.

But usually the best time is after, as long as it's not a late night arrival (pilots get tired too, you know).

In acord with the FAA's rules is prohibed the cockpit visit during the flight. But when the plane is at the gate is posibly to visit the cockpit. For example American give the possibility to visit the cockpit at the airport.
I don't know the Delta case.

Delta allows FD visits before takeoff. I have spent 45 minutes on a DL 763 chatting with the pilots.
