US Airways to Begin Portland, Oregon Flights From Pittsburgh and Philadelphia
ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Portland, Ore., will be added as a new destination on the US Airways route network when the company introduces daily nonstop roundtrip service from both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, effective June 2, 2002.
US Airways will operate two daily nonstop flights from Pittsburgh and one daily nonstop flight from Philadelphia using 120-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.
``We see great opportunity for Portland-area customers to fly our new nonstop service, not only to our hubs in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, but to many other business and vacation centers in the eastern U.S. and Europe,'' said Gregory T. Taylor, US Airways senior vice president - planning.
Taylor added that customers flying to Portland from other parts of the US Airways system will be able to choose from three well-timed hub connections on modern Airbus aircraft, bringing greater levels of comfort to transcontinental travel.
US Airways and US Airways Express currently operate 544 daily departures from Pittsburgh and 414 daily departures from Philadelphia.

US Airways' transatlantic destinations include Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Manchester, Munich, Paris and Rome.
