In the spirit of keeping this family oriented, let me explain:
The September 2001 issue of Airliner World features an article on MSY (New Orleans International Airport), where I've worked at since March of '87. The centerfold is a two-page aerial photo of the airport (looks to be about a year old).
If anyone out there has a copy, and wishes a quick tour from that aerial, please read on.....others may not pick up on most of this. And for them......at least there's no staple in the naval.
Anyway, for those with the mag, the picture is oriented north and south, the river at the bottom is the Mississippi. The air carrier terminal is obvious: concourse A to the lower left (US, NW), B is above A (CO, SW, AW), C is next to B (UA, AA, TW, YX, ML, J7, intls), D is on the left (DL and JB).
The large ramp to the west is FedEx, further west is one of our FBO's, and UPS, Emery, etc. Across the field to the north is our new general aviation ramp. Both FBO's will be there shortly (one is now).
As one can see, MSY is surrounded on three sides by residences and industry, and the fourth side by a swamp.
Looks like a decent article.
