My Least Favourite Airport Is.....

My least favourite airport is Mumbai international. In BOM, for a departure you are advised to check in for your flight 4 hours in advance. The airport is quite dirty, and there are few duty free shops. Also flight delays are a common occurance. On arrival to the airport, you will instantly fell the heat of india, as there is no air conditioning, and what makes it worse is that you could be queing for up to as long as 4hours (from experience). Please feel free to reply on your experience/s there. Will they build a new airport?

In US, BOS takes the cake. Airport itself isn't that bad (it suffers from endless delays like all other major airports in US), but getting downtown by car is just deadly.

MIA is the worst airport I have ever been to in the US. I really was expecting to go to a nice, busy, O'hare type airport. However, I was COMPLETELY mistaken, in no way this airport is nice. Its old, its stuffy, its dirty, its dark (has VERY few windows), and the baggage claim and rental car agencies area in Concourse F are an absolute nightmare.

Now, I am not a very tall person, yet the ceiling was EXTREMELY low.

Generally, the whole airport's ceiling is low. The AA part is better than UA's gates, but still miserable. The departure on Concourse F isn't horrible, but still poor.

Overall, its a horrible airport. It felt like a prison somewhat because it was almost windowless. The FEW windows there are extremely tinted, so it was dark, the whole airport looked the same from the inside day, and night. The only thing that keeps the inside of MIA lighted is artificial light, which isn't very nice after a while, ESPECIALLY during the day.

I don't know, maybe I'm used to DEN having so many windows.

I was also stressed during that period and not feeling very good, maybe I exagerrated a bit.

Anyways, MIA is STILL not a nice airport.

Regards.

Ehehe........sorry guys I got a little carried away. I just was really disappointed in the airport.

Also, I wasn't feeling too well when I went there.

Other than the fact that it is old and huge, what's wrong with JFK? CDG is one that I don't like.

Why Sydney airport is quite new and well-equipped.

I don't like SFO because of the delays. I'll wait until the new runways are open.

Dude, CDG is the nicest airport in Europe. It's roomy, spacious, and has tons of windows and great duty free shops. How can you dislike IAH.

TonyBurr, what'a wrong with IAH? Or is it HOU you don't like?

My personal least favorite would have to be the non-Delta part of CVG. Terminals 1 and 2 are terrible, but terminal 3 is great.

Chales de Gaulle is just a huge mess and München always suffers from delays.

Humberside, its small and the runway needs replaceing. Teesside is MUCH BETTER. it has two runwasys and there nice and smooth. The terminal is being improved too!

Nashville and St. Louis are the only two I can think of. Never been to the US's famous bad airports of DTW, and BOS. Almost ended up going through BOS this past summer, but we went to Tampa and Sarasota, Florida instead.

I haven't been to the new re-done parts yet, but I don't like Midway Airport in Chicago at all. MDW has one or two resturaunts, almost no decent shops, and not enough security check in (long lines).

Queen Alia in Amman Jordan. I will never forget after a flight from TPA to MDW then a drive to ORD for a flight to FRA then to AMM I had to go real bad. As soon as we were finally allowed to deplane (Lufthansa A-320) we were escorted onto a bus (no jetways) by armed soldiers and taken to the terminal for "processing" I ran to the nearest bathroom tore open the door and dicovered a HOLE in the floor! I about died! Luckily a few stalls down I found a toilet but what a shocker that was! Tee-hee welcome to a new country!  Nuts
I believe I can fly.....

I haven't seen this thread in awhile....but I'll add my two cents worth anyway.

1) DTW
2) ORD
3) DFW

P.S. I think Sydney is an awesome aiport...it's clean, relatively compact, and offers an abundance of passenger amenities.

Sheesh, HUY must be bad if MME is better than it!
NCL is better than both.
My least favourite airport is probably Reus, Spain. Very boring in there.

LAX (Los Angeles International)

When you go through the international terminal's customs and your flight arrives at the same time as a packed China Airlines 747-400, Thai 747-400, and Eva 747-400, the place is an absolute nightmare!!!!!!!!
Then there's the process of retreiving your bags by navigating through a sea of human bodies...

And with the A380 coming...

I forgot to mention DFW. That place is hell on earth when connecting. I could walk faster than the stupid TrAAin, or whatever it's called.

Shabbiest airport that I have flown into was Detroit Metro, coming in from Singapore (in 1998) on a NWA 747-400. Very dirty arrivals area, immigration line 1/4 mile long (pretty close to the truth), and a customs area that was right out of a 1930's gangster movie. I'll give it some credit though, I've had some pleasant memories departing Detroit on BA Big grin

Until it got its new Intenrational terminal, Brussels Zaventem was about the most annoying place to depart/arrive in. Too small for the amount of traffic. But more recently I've grown quite fond of it. The old terminal and viewing gallery is still there as a 'ghost'. Very spooky to walk underneath it at night when you transfer between terminals, memories of times gone by.

CDG is a great place! I guess some people mean Terminal 1 sucks, but it's just so strange and ominous that you have to love it.

How about the Delta Terminal (not the Marine Air) at LGA? Pretty unpleasant place.

And I must say arriving at Venice (Italy) wasn't a thrill either, though it looks like they're building a new terminal...

I have never flown thru LGA but, I would have to say, with all the delays, its a mad house I would avoid at all costs.
