What Is A Crashpad?

Sat Jun 26, 1999 2:37 pm

Hi guys and gals, my computer got sick, so it was in the shops a couple of days and it's okay now.

Now to my question: What in the world is a crashpad? I hear pilots say this all the time, saying something like they are looking for a crashpad in a certain city.

My guess: Something like an arrestor bed for pilots to land their plane during practice so they won't crash?? I'm confused!

A crash pad is simply a no frills place with a bed. A place to crash you know sleep. Usually it has 3 or 4 rooms with just pilots renting.

It usually costs 250 to 300 a month.

If I was flying the New York to Miami run and lived in California I would get a crash pad at the city I would be based out of. I already have my primary residence in Cali. I just want a place to bring the honeys back to. I mean a place sleep while flying that line. heheh.
