Ireland's minister for Public Enterprise (who has responsibility for aviation) has said she is close to approving a plan to put a new terminal at Dublin Airport out to tender. This would involve a competition to operate the new terminal. Ireland's main airport operator, Aer Rianta, has come under major pressure, even in recent weeks, particularly for its capital projects which many (unfairly, in some cases) say are excessive. However, competition will be very good for the airport as a whole (some might now say "hole"!) and the regional economy, too.
Hopefully, the new operator will include a viewing facility in its plans.
