AN-124 At AUS Today

Tue Sep 04, 2001 5:15 am

I was bored today and went through a walk through the terminal at AUS and spotted an AN-124 parked on the maintenance ramp at AUS as well as some CO 737's, MD-80's and a COEX ERJ. All of these were diversions from IAH. Also saw a NW A319 make an emergency landing for what I'm guessing was for low fuel. It was also a diversion from IAH and after landing taxied to the gate area with fire trucks following. A little while later a fuel truck showed up and the fire trucks left.

You can view a photo of the AN-124 here:

This also gives a good idea of the size of this plane. There is a MD-80 parked to the left and a DC-8 (Emery) parked to the right of the AN-124.

Here's a photo of the NW A319 that made the emergency landing:

Photos aren't the best as I didn't have my 35mm with. These are both taken with a digital camera using the digital zoom feature (which I hate to use).
