Which Airline Has The Best Web Site?

Wed Sep 05, 2001 10:34 pm

Which airline do you think has the best web site?
Mainly based on the amount of information about the airline such as its fleet and other information for spotters/enthusiasts etc?

Personally, I think BA has really good coverage of their fleet and seating plans etc.

Hi,

Well ive not really visited many - but the best airline site I would say is BA.

The best airport site has to be BAA - all the airports owned by BAA thrown into one site.

What Is The Best Ffp?

Thu Sep 06, 2001 5:17 am

I personally think that SAS EuroBonus is the best.
Thai Royal Orchid Plus is getting more popular.
And Continental One Pass is also one of my favourite.
What do you think?

Frontier Airlines has a very nice website. It loads very quick and is extremely easy to use. There route map is also really cool, it uses Flash.

United Airline's website isn't too bad either, although not very easy to use.
It has a GREAT flight search though.

British Airways has a nice website too, although very difficult to use.

Regards.

Well, I think Virgin Atlantic.
From a web developer's point of view, it is very well organized, and is very advanced in terms of the actual capabilities of the site. The website was designed to have a look that only Virgin Atlantic would have, and I think this was accomplished. The only thing this site lacks is some leadership. The fleet page (among others) is incredibly out of date. I can't figure out why they had this site created if they won't maintain it.

Delta definetely. Been to almost all of them for pricing...DL has the best pricing and reservations system out of all of the ones I have tried (CO, UA, AA, SQ, TWA, BA, US). Also, DL's site offers many many options including 360º virtual tour of BizE...stats on avg plane and fleet age...and easy to use seat assignment/aircraft config models. DL has won awards for best "websmart" compant or something along those lines for their website.  Big thumbs up BA's site is good too...and UA's has some good points too.

Virgin's site is horrible, IMO. Painfully slow and not well organized. For example, if I want to check the status of the flight, there is no link or any other hint on the first page telling you where to go. You have to click through 2 more pages before finding it.

Pop-up menus may look nice but there not as functional as standard menus.
