AF Visitor To BOS

Sun Sep 09, 2001 4:46 pm

I'm not sure why, but the early AF flight into Boston was cancelled yesterday (sept. 8), which brought a 747-300 into town on the later flight. Unlike the delayed passengers, I was quite happy to see a new face at Terminal E. Does anyone know why the early flight was cancelled?

Did you notice the registration of that 747-300 please?

Thank you,

Alain,
The reg number was F-GETB, I think. I did take note of the reg, but I can't remember it for sure now.

AF has only one daily flight to BOS from CDG and it is operated with a B767-300ER.

Bonjour Jtdieffen

You may be happy in the next months, because according to a pilot friend, Air France will put its brand new A330-200s on YYZ and BOS.
You can already check that on any reservation system (or in the AF website). Note that the first A330-200 will join the AF fleet in december.

Air France actually operates two BOS flights currently, both with 767-300's. Yesterday was an exception, with only one flight operating out of CDG with a 747-300.

I am happy to see (as AF-A319 pointed out) that by December or January there will be an A330 and a 763 operating out of CDG to BOS, giving us some variety, sorta like Lufthansa (742 and A340) and British Air(742 and 772). It just makes life more interesting.

During the summers, AF has, in fact, two (2) daily flights. AF 332 and AF 322 respectively, in part because of the SkyTeam alliance. Once the winter skeds start, the second daily arrival is not operated on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

I did do some poking around on the AF site and for some reason on 8 Sept., flight 332 was cancelled and flight 322 utilized a 744, presumably to accomodate the pax from 332. Perhaps Jtdieffen, you saw a 744?

FYI, on the 5th of Sept, they used a sole A343 for flight 332. And yes, the A330-200 will come to BOS when AF receives them.
Bonjour Chef!
