Delta Expects Limited Operations Friday
Updated September 14, 2001 9 a.m. EDT
Delta expects to conduct limited operations today as the airline gradually increases its operations.
Through 8:30 a.m. EDT today, Delta completed 610 flights with approximately 34,000 passengers since operations began Sept. 13.
Delta’s goal is to serve customers by operating as much of its schedule as possible under the current circumstances. Operations today will continue to be affected by Federal Aviation Administration authorizations, security issues, airport closures, and operational and crew constraints. This could result in last-minute schedule changes. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as operations resume.
Delta’s service intentions today are:
Continue to restore scheduled U.S. domestic flights.
Return diverted Delta international flights which are still on the ground in Canada.
Restore scheduled eastbound and westbound European service. As of 9 a.m., John F. Kennedy International Airport remains closed. Therefore, Delta’s European service will be flown to Atlanta and Cincinnati.
Begin northbound flights from Latin America.
There will be no Delta flights to or from Asia on Sept. 14.
