773 Current And Future Customers

Thu Sep 20, 2001 10:30 pm

To my knowledge, only CX and SQ have ordered the 773. Is the range different from the 772? How many more does it seat than the 772? It is absolutley huge looking. What airlines can we expect to purchase this in the future?

lmao Airbus380,
what about checking the facts BEFORE posting?!? just kidding. As you might have notices yourself, quite some airlines have ordered the 773, and I think that after the dust has settled, more and more airlines will order them.
(I'm sure that I'll get beaten up because of this but) I think CO, AA and DL are candidates in the not too near future, but this is really a long term business, and we're talking about years and even decades here, not days or weeks.

I agree with SailorOrion. The 773 is a perfect step up from the 772 for traffic growth. I see UA, AA, DL, CO. Also Varig, BA, KLM, Egyptair, El Al, Saudia, Air-India, PIA, Air China, Asiana, ANZ.

Don't forget Air France & EVA have ordered the 773ER already.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Don´t think it will ever become a real sales success. Its a niche product between 772/A340 and the 744. If you need real high capacity, the 744 is better. A fleet of B744/772 is more flexible.

Air France ordered 10 B777/300ER and Alitalia has 6 options.

hm......up to now, 99 777-300 and 777-300ERs have been ordered, according to Boeing. Not counting orders for the 777-300LR (are there any?) I think it is a success already.

I think when things start to get better, the 773ER will be an even better success. Some airlines are actually sizing down. For example 772's replacing 744's. The cheaper operating costs in addition to higher capacity, I think will result in more 773ER orders.

Stay tuned.
