While cleaning up my bookshelf, I came
acroos an old travel magazine with their
ad... real nice 727s equipped like private

I am good friends with the former CEO and president of MGM, they went Chap 11 many years ago.

Bought by American International (Kallita International) December 31,1994 and renamed Champion Air. Now owned by Scott Kaliita.

Towards the end, they were charter only, specializing in sports team charters. Then as with most airlines they had financial problems and then they were bought by American International (Kalitta) and they turned MGM's immaculate DC8-62's in freighters!!!!! Luckily I was able to fly on MGM once from LAX to MBJ (Montego Bay Jamaica) and back on 2 of MGM's DC8's in 1993. They were gorgeous.
