QF First Class On Domestic Runs

Mon Oct 01, 2001 4:09 pm

I am booked on a QF 744 from Perth to Sydney on 11 October 2001. It is the red eye special. I am booked business class. I was wondering how Qantas allocate the seating in First Class for these domestic flights as it would be fantastic to score a first class fully reclinable seat/bed for the red eye to Sydney.

Thanks in advance of your replies.

From my knowledge and experiences with QF I'd have to say they would give them to the most loyal passengers who are booked in business, ie the highest tier members.

Any more replies?

I am flying tonight and would like to try and see if I can get into one of those first class seats if possible.

Be nice and just ask, plus some candy or something might work. I just asked when I flew them in April and I got it.

Even business class on a 747 should be pretty good, better than the 767s or 737s
This maybe a better question to ask on flyertalk
Ask at checkin you might be lucky
Why fly non stop when you can connect

Just ask for a seat in Rows 1 to 4! Generally they have been going to Gold Frequent Flyers etc. All other business class is accommodated on the upper deck, with main deck Business Class seats going to Economy Class.
If you are on QF1506 departing at 0135 the flight is wide open so your chances are good  Big grin. The B767-200 leaving at 0040 is chock-a-block.
