Airplanes In Fireworks

Wed Jul 07, 1999 12:49 am

Hi-

If you are not framiliar with what fireworks are, they are explosives that make brilliant and breathtaking explosions in the air. Cities put on firworks shows on the 4th of July, when we celebrate our independence from Britian. I saw a bunch of airplanes were flying through these fireworks, and I was wondering if this was safe and if a city was going to have a fireworks show, if they have to contact the closest ATC about it. Civialians cannot detonate these highly dangerous and highly high fireworks, just special companies.

Are you sure they were actually flying through the fireworks and not just APPEARING to? Certainly doesn't sound like a good idea to me - some of those glowing particles are VERY hot.
