What Was The Shortest Flight You Had?

Wed Oct 03, 2001 4:35 am

When I was a more little I remember tacking a B727 from MX on MEX-ACA route.. about (35minutes)/200NM.. and I have repeated that flight like 5 times with different airlines... including the extint Taesa.

On next days hope I can fly to PBC (Puebla) 45nm away from MEX or TLC (Toluca) 40nm away from here.. I´ll try the ATR42 from Aeromar.

What about your shortest flight??

I flew on a Horizon Metro III from PSC to PDT once. The flight was about 15 minutes and we landed with a thunder storm near PDT, so the wind was knocking us around. Gotta love the flying sewer tube....

It'll take something really short to beat this one:

Continental 727-200 from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, and back again. This was in the early 80's when CO ran a DEN-MIA-FLL flight. Only 18 air miles, perhaps 5 minutes flying time.

NW, DTW-TOL, a total flying time of 9 min. it was supposed to be 15. The time from gate to gate took nearly 1 1/2 hours. I suggest driving instead or just get picked up in Detroit

RST-MSP on Ozark flight 910, April 30, 1974. The flight of 76 miles was operated by a DC-9, scheduled departure time 17:15, arrival 17:40. Total fare for my one-way ticket was $19.64 (18.18 base plus 1.46 tax) -- I still have the ticket, less flight coupon pulled, ticket jacket, and boarding pass from my shortest airline flight.

During the Thanksgiving holidays in 1993, I flew Tropic Air from San Pedro, Belize, to Belize City Municipal airport, 15 minutes in a Cessna Caravan. We had continuing service from the Municipal Airport to the Belize International (BZE), which took about 5 minutes. Ha!

San Pedro Island -- now that's a place to relax and go scuba diving. Anyone ever been there?

The shortest route I flew was from Funchal (LPFU-FUN)
to Porto Santo (LPPS-PST). It was TAP flight, usually operated by DH6. It was about 20 min. Once did that same route on a B727. Very nice flight, flying at 5000ft
over the sea for about 10 min.
Today that route is operated by a SH36.

My shortest scheduled flight was from LAX-SNA in a EMB-110, about a 20 minute flight. It was the smallest aircraft I had ever flown in & one of the best experiences I have had, especially when taxing at LAX behind a NW 747. There was no cockpit door, so you could see everything the pilot was doing.

You won't believe this, but one night it took AA 10 hours to get from LIT to DFW due to thunderstorms. En-route we ran low on fuel, and had to stop at AFW (Ft. Worth Alliance), where AA has a maintenance base. We re-fueled and then flew to DFW, a trip of about 10 miles. DFW never looked better.

I have flown the shortest flight in the world. It's between two Greek Islands, Karpathos and Kassos and it's done by Olympic Airways. The aircraft as you might have guessed is a Dornier. The total flight from take off to touch down is less then 5 minutes.Quite an experience right....???

shortest hop was a glider that crashed during takeoff. "Flight" lasted maybe 10 seconds.
Shortest airliner flight would probably be AMS-LHR, 45 minutes - 1 hour time difference == -15 minutes  Smile/happy/getting dizzy.
