How Do They Fly Like That?

Exactly how does a pilot manage to fly an A340 with one hand? Does the side stick produce pressure like in all other airplanes. (When you don't trim em out  Smile ) or is it just like a joystick for the computer. I find it weird and maybe awkward to have to fly something like that. I know when i fly i have one hand on the throttle and one on the yoke but still when i'm flaring to touchdown I use two hands to do that.

I don't really know how it is for them, or how they do it exactly, but two VS A340 pilots I talked to said they loved the side stick, and found it very easy to use after they got used to it.

You always fly the airplane, any airplane, with one hand... one hand on the yoke/sidestick.. one hand on the throttles.
Chicks dig winglets.

Yeah, the only 'bus pilots that i've talked to were the A320 pilots from NWA, and they said that you get used to it real quick, and that after the sidestick, you won't want to go back to the yoke.
