Tstms Impacting Routes

Sat Oct 06, 2001 12:32 pm

http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyFAA/index.html

It says that IAH is George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport (IAH) Real-time Status
The status information provided on this site indicates general airport conditions; it is not flight-specific. Check with your airline to determine if your flight is affected.
Delays by Destination: No destination-specific delays are being reported.
General Departure Delays: Due to TSTMS IMPACTING ROUTES, traffic is experiencing Gate Hold and Taxi delays between 1 hour and 15 minutes and 1 hour and 29 minutes in length and decreasing.
General Arrival Delays: Arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.

What does this mean?

It means that thunderstorms have been impacting both the airport itself, plus all the normal arrival routes to, and departure routes from IAH, such that traffic is all backed up. Flights stuck on the ground at IAH are delayed from 1:16 to 1:29, and anything now arriving into IAH is receiving an airborne delay (in a holding pattern) of less than 15 minutes.

You might head on over to the Weather Channel site real quick and take a look at how many thunderstorms there are associated with this cold front that's moving into the area...
