American Flights In The 1980s

Fri Jul 09, 1999 2:47 am

Can anybody tell me all the planes operated by American and American Eagle on Greensboro-Raleigh and Raleigh-Phoenix and the return during the mid to late 1980s? Any info... even just a general idea would be greatly appreciated.

AA's a/c in the eighties used to be quite varied. Out of RDU, AE flew Metro IIIs, then later mostly J31s. Saabs and ATRs were eventually used. Nashville Eagle was the original operator. Im not sure that AA ever operated RDU-PHX nonstop. Perhaps a one stop via ORD. I know that in one day, ORD-PHX flights could encompass MD80s, 727-100s/200s, 767-200s, and DC-10s!!! I wish they still did that instead of the endless stream of MD80s now!
