Passenger Berths On Aircraft

Mon Oct 08, 2001 11:25 pm

A few years back, Virgin Atlantic stated that was going to opt for underfloor passenger berths, louges, excercise and massage units on its to be delivered A340-600.

I have yet to hear anything more about this. Is Virgin still really considering these options on its -600s for delivery next year? Was that just publicity hype? Are there any airlines other than Virgin that are considering underfloor berths for passengers?

I cannot imagine, and airline would be willing to invest in such an expensive amenity that would displace cargo space.
