What's Your Favorite 737NG?

Fri Oct 12, 2001 8:23 am

I've been curious, what is everyone's favorite 737NG?

I'm a bit old fashioned but, I personally don't like the stretched 737s too much. In my opinion, I think a 737 has to be a short nice little plane.

I think stretching aircraft is good, but to a certain extent. I think the 737-800 is okay, a bit too long for me, but not bad. The 737-900 is WWWAAAYYYY too long in my opinion. The 737-600 is a bit too short, so you guessed it, my favorite 737NG is the 737-700.

I think its the PERFECT length, and perfect size. When I was young, I was around 737-200s and 737-300s all the time, and grown to love them. I used to fly on them so frequently, and fell in love with them. Then all of a sudden when I saw the 737-400, I was a little shocked. For most of my life I was used to seeing a 737 that is short, not a long one. Although, I don't mind the 737-400/800 size anymore, I've been getting used to it. But I don't think I will EVER get used to the 737-900. Its just not a 737.  Big grin

Hehe, thats how I am, when I get used to seeing something in perticular, I don't like sudden change.

Just a personal preference. They are all great aircraft and wouldn't mind on flying on all of them. I'm just talking about the looks.

My favorite 737NG is the 737-700:

My fave is the 739...since it's so rare, I don't get tired of looking at it.

I think the redesigned larger tail on the 737NG looks too large....the 739's length helps mitigate this.

My favourite classic 737?? It's the 735....a short cute stubby!

As for classics, my favorite 737 is the 737-200 (gosh, I love those engines!) and the 737-300 which is almost identical with the 737-700.

Regards.

Actually, the most comfortable one to me is the 738. I have been on the 738 and the 73G and I may soon go on the 739.

BA you got it right. The 737-700 is the best NG, especially in Continental colors!

Altho I'm partial to F9's 733s, because I had the pleasure of working with them...I think Continental's 738s are the best looking 737NG around today. Their colors & the length of the fuselage makes for a perfect look. Just my two cents worth. Regards.

My favorite 737NG is the -800; it's the thoroughbred of the series IMO. Able to fly U.S. transcon routes in both directions with full payload (unlike the 739) while comfortably carrying 20-30 pax more than the 73G.

However, the 738 is a very close runner-up to my favorite type in its category.

My fav has got to be the BBJ. That counts as a B737NG right... because after all it's a B737-700.

My favorite Boeing 737NG is the 737-800. They are long, and nice looking. They look the best in Continental colors.
