Donder10,

I have that scanner too. Its proper!

I have replaced the normal antenna with a nine section aerial. It cost me £10.

See the following websites. Contact via email or mail to receive their catalogue so you can compare prices.

http://www.airsupply.co.uk/

If you send a Stamp Addressed Envelope to this address they will mail you their catalogue.

S. R. P. Radio Centre
1686 Bristol Road South Rednal
Birmingham
B45 9TZ

Tel: 0121 460 1581

There are other websites but all the above have specialist knowledge of airband scanners.

Good luck on your purchase  Smile

Hi again,

Yes the antenna does improve reception when compared to the rubber duck aerial which came with the scanner.

I bought it from Tandy's. Its called Sky Scan Telescopic Aerial. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any pictures online to show you. So, I took a picture of mine with my digital camera to show you.  Big thumbs up

It is a nine section telescopic aerial that stretches out to about 65cm in length. Remember VHF reception depends on the 'line of sight' rule. The higher you are the better reception. For example with this aerial if I was to go to my attic I could listen to Heathrow Approach clearly. I live near BHX.

For a mobile antenna it is not bad at all given the cost.
