Diff A330/A340

Sat Oct 13, 2001 6:11 pm

Hi everyone,

I have flown in the A330 numerous times. I have yet to try the A340, made an effort to though but SIA changed my A340 flight to a B744.

Anyway, I would like to hear from you guys what are the differences flying in a A330 and a A340?

A330-CX, PAL
A340-CX, SQ

The A340 is a little quieter than the 330. The 340 has 4 engines and the 330 has 2-everybody knows that. The 330 climbs faster than the 340.

The A330-200/300 has better takeoff performance over the CFM56 powered four engine A340-200/300. The two engine A330 has a total thrust of 144,000lbs with either GE CF6 or RR Trent 700s. The four engine A340-200/300 with 34,000lb thrust CFM56s has a total thrust of 136,000lbs.
