Nice, but did they catch the person who threw the red paint at the tail of the plane? Does the splat represent something? Switzerland's crushed reputation, perhaps?

It's Just A Transfer Oc LX C/s To Swissair!

Mon Oct 15, 2001 1:27 am

... they are no new c/s, just an adaption of the Crossair colours on Swissair planes.

Crossair can cange the tail scheme if they want to. They should keep the Swissair brand at least on their long-haul craft. World recognition and all that. No?

I am not surprised if that will be the site in the new year or 2. Swissair is left with 3 options and looks like Crossair will take over their whole intl network.......

I have to say that the Crossair livery transfers well to the larger aircraft. Hopefully we will be able to see this in the coming future!  Smile

Yes--SWISSAIR in the Crossair characters would be a cool update.

The colors look nice.
But maybe you won't be able to see SR/LX overseas anymore soon.
Since they were planning to take over only about 10 SR planes ...

Love the A330, great job Mario. Hope to see them on real aircraft. Swissair in Crossair font would be really cool.

Amazing! I just can't imagine the name Crossair on an A330 or even MD-11!!! For me Crossair is still the biggest regional airline worldwide operating Saabs and Embraers; OK for the 321 but I think another airline (Swissair) should still operate the longhaul planes...with the Blue belly!!!!  Smile

The problem is that the old SWR has so many debts that I really fear now that the name SWISSAIR will have to dissapear for fear of lawsuits worldwide for non-paid bills!!!  Sad

Maybe the could do as for Balair -> Belair
so maybe Swissair -> Smissair (nobody would notice Big grin )

Concerning the red CRX patch, some employees at BSL say it symbolizes M.S., the initials of Moritz Sutter, the founder of CRX in 1972!!!! (scoop!)

Looks great, but I wish it said "Swissair" instead of "Crossair". When I think of Crossair, I think of ERJ's and such. When I think of Swissair, I think of 747s and A330's.
All in all, it really does translate well onto the larger aircraft. If it is really like that, it will be one of the few new schemes that I really like.

these are the newest (and quite horrible) Crossair colors, and not a LX/SR new livery; the job is nevertheless spectacular, both Airbus seem real! (how is it done?)

btw, in a few years perhaps there won't be any SR nor LX left...Crossair's financial situation is far from being postive, and it won't be too easy for the "new" airline to take all the assets from SR without the liabilities...

If these were the colours used even on A330 or so
it has one advantage:
The name of the airline would be readable!!!!
(Not just C****air).

But all in all it is very tragic that another well-known
and traditional airline will disappear from the skies.

They should keep the name "Swissair". They are known worlwide like that, and it definitely sounds like "The Swiss Airline".

And...does swiss people have a bit more of imagination to stop using the white cross??????????

Lan,

That is our flag, Swissair is (was) our flag-carrier, hence, it wears the flag. Besides that, we like it. There is an awful lot of history behind that white cross.

I really hope the Swissair name is kept alive, and I also think they should return to the color scheme they had 10 years ago, with the brown and black trim. It was distinctive, and it would represent the time of SR's history that they were top class.

Doubt it will happen. Crossair will be the brand for regional transport, Swissair for intercontinental. Swissair colors will probably be kept, as the brand is a very strong one. Cfalk, that would be cool! I didn't really like those chocolate-stripes, but it represents SR's glory days.

HIDEOUS!!

Keep the "SWISSAIR" brand flying. SR is more of an institution than an airline. OK, call me nostalgic, but I have so much respect for and fond memories of this carrier. I resent its management for trying to forge an absurd alliance of third-rate carriers that in the end only diluted the SR brand and eroded its finances.
Somebody do something quick. Keep the SR name in the air----JETZT!!!!

well i personally think its very unoriginal- though the text looks ok, whats with that red splosh of paint, that you would most likely see outside a chinease take away?
I rekon the tail would look better completely red.

Lots of ailines are going for this "swooshy/sploshy" looks!

You guys have to be smoking some cheap crack from the Bronx to like that paint scheme. The Lufthansa scheme is devistating enough. This makes me want to puke. I can't believe that Euro airlines are getting cheaper byt the year. Hell AA has a better scheme than this. I'm a graphic desinger with an associates degree and an ex volunteer for the FDNY and I can come up with something. Like for instance. Get the old swissair colors back ans replace "swissair" with crossair. That simple. Airline paintschmes have gone downhill since the cheatlines have vanished. The best were Canadian proud wings and the last TWA scheme.

I have already seen MD-80's in these colours at Heathrow. I agree..... way too much white! Although, like most new colours, when you see them in real life, they never look as bad!
I hated the bmi livery until i saw a gleaming A320 at belfast, and now I love it!
