Judging by the success of the European carrier's Business Classes (2x3 seats, legroom, etc.) do you think that the US airlines should get rid of their First Class cabins on short flights up and down both coasts, and just install large Business Class cabins as Lufthansa, Air France, Austrian, Swissair, etc. have done on their intra-Europe routes?

NO, I do not. I think that the first class that is currently in place is fine. I have pondered this idea before, but do not like it.

Having domestic first class is one thing that makes American carriers better than international carriers. Everyone claims how "high & mighty" internatioal carrier's international service is, but no one has ever "acclaimed" their domestic service. American carriers have the guts to have full-fledged first class on domestic routes.

Delta is doing this on thier 777 MCO-ATL and MCO-CVG route. The service you get here is better then most services on major US Airlines First Class.
