Which Is Better For A Manufacturer?

Wed Oct 17, 2001 3:54 am

What makes an aircraft manufacturer more proud, a single airline operating a hundred of a single type of their aircraft, or fifty different airlines operating that type of aircraft in their fleet Confused

Ok, for example if Boeing were to bring out a short fuselage 757 would they consider it more of a success if American Airlines operated 100 of them or if fifty airlines from all over the world opted to have a couple in their fleet which would also equal 100 in total sales, but which of the two situations would make Boeing prouder Confused

I don't think Boeing would care which. What would make em proud is the fact airlines are buying their aircraft and they look forward to a BIG FAT PAYCHECK!!!  Smile

I'd say that Boeing would prefer to have many operators, rather than one big. With may operators there are more oppertunities to sell more aircraft in the future.
