USAirways- Which Alliance If They Go To One?

Thu Oct 18, 2001 6:26 am

This may have been discussed before, but I wanted to see what people thought.

If USAirways has to go or wants to go to a big alliance, where should they go??

Skyteam with Delta, Oneworld with AA/BA, Star Alliance with United, or maybe the proposed Wings Alliance with Northwest? What's the answer for good ol' US??

I'd say Star.

In our meetings with our managers after 9/11, it was said that US and UA are the most subject to going under. After UA's letter today and US 's past history I think an alliance is the least of their worries! Remember when US and BA had an alliance? Who knows where all this is going...........

US and AA already have something where you get AA miles when you take the US shuttle, so that could be expanded.

US Shuttle/AA thing's gone in November I think. I'm not totally sure when, but its going to be discontinued.

Yeah, but haven't they talked about discontinuing the shuttle thing ("now through next march...") for a while, but kept extending it? Forgive me if my memory is off.
