Fri Oct 19, 2001 3:34 am

Has anyone heard any dates for implementing additional service to/from DCA, especially to/from STL on TW?

American re-starts MIA-DCA on 26 October. I believe it will start at six daily and then gradually increase back to nine daily. United re-starts MIA-DCA also on 26 October. They only fly one daily frequency on the route.

I thought capacity on single flight is 156, so what will Amtran do? The lowest capacity on them is 173/175. Can they just not sell 19 seats on every flight?

Thanks for all the responses.

Last night I heard on TV that "Phase II" was going to begin on the 26th. I don't know how they pick the airports to get resumed service. Why isn't MEM on the list? It's a big NW hub.

My concerns nothwithstanding, I'm very glad to see that DCA is on the way back. I look forward to seeing it back to "normal", whenever that may be. Last night my scanner was busier than it had been since 9/10.
