For Delta, I would expect ATL, NYC, BOS, WAS, and CVG to be on both lists, with SLC, LAX, DFW, MCO, and MIA/FLL on one or the other.

10- CCS

You really think EZE is such a high revenue maker for LAN? It seems like they would make more money elsewhere (MIA or JFK) especially since Argentina is in the shits. Anyways just my opinion.

I agree, I think MIA is probably #1 for LA in terms of revenue. They have a huge commitment to Miami, with flights to seven destinations and over 30 flights a week on 763s and 343s, plus huge cargo operations.

For Southwest, it would probably be the cities in which they operate the most flights:

1. Baltimore (BWI)
2. Chicago (MDW)
3. Dallas (DAL)
4. Houston (HOU)
5. kansas City (MCI)
6. Los Angeles (LAX)
7. Nashville (BNA)
8. Oakland (OAK)
9. Phoenix (PHX)
10. St. Louis (STL)

I would think that with Delta one of their profitable routes would be MCO.

I think that some of Lufthansa´s most profitable flights are:
FRA-SFO, MUC-SFO, FRA-TLV, FRA-SIN, FRA-LHR, FRA-TXL, FRA-NRT.

To list many airlines top-10 routes in terms of revenue and loads would take several very long posts.

Below is a top-3 route list of a few major us airlines in regards to highest yields and most pax carried(busiest route)

Yield
-----
AA - DFW-ORD, LGA-ORD, BOS-ORD
CO - BOS-EWR, DCA-EWR, IAH-DFW
DL - BOS-LGA, DCA-LGA, ATL-ORD
NW- DTW-ORD, DTW-MSP, DTW-LGA
UA - ORD-EWR, ORD-LGA, DCA-ORD
WN - AUS-DAL, DAL-HOU, DAL-SAT

Pax Carried
----------------
AA - LGA-ORD, JFK-LAX, JFK-SJU
CO - EWR-MCO, EWR-FLL, BOS-EWR
DL - BOS-LGA, DCA-LGA, ATL-LGA
NW - MDW-MSP, DTW-LGA, DTW-MCO
UA - LAX-SFO, ORD-LAX, LGA-ORD
WN - LAX-OAK, DAL-HOU, LAS-LAX

As you can see the highest yeild markets are usually shorter routes with lots of business traffic, while the high volume routes in pax counts are often longer ones with a higher mix of leisure traffic.

The numbers are derived rom DOT form-41 filings for Q2 of 2001.

For Iberia MIA is there biggest flight by far. All the Iberias flights like the ones to madrid and Central America. American has alot of big time flights in MIA too. BA has big flights too to MIA on of there biggest in Lodon-Miami. Lan Chile has its biggest flight to Miami.

Ghana Airways

Mon Oct 22, 2001 4:28 am

for ghana airways, i'd say tha no 1 route is
accra-LHR
and second is
accra-JFK
maybe accra-BWI would be tha third
it would not be practical to give you ten, because ghana airways really only makes money off of these three routes...

Hey Mfricke, where is Las Vegas on the list of Southwests' top 10 destinations. I mean, they are the biggest carrier out here by far, and they have a huge hub out here too.

To answer your question:

Las Vegas is Southwest's second largest city in total number of flights, and it's largest city in total number of passenger boardings.
And you are right, Southwest is far and away the leading airline in terms of number of passengers boarded at Las Vegas' McCarran Intl Airport

Well guys. MIA is not the most profitable. It is difficult to believe, but it is EZE. They have 7 daily flights from SCL to EZE, two of them operated in 767-300s and the restant 5 in a mixed operation of 737-200s and A-320s.
Although in Cargo...MIA is the top one destination by far.
