Maybe Omni Air International is the only airline that might.

Several airlines have tried it over the years, including Hawaiian, America West and maybe even Western many years ago, dont know if anyone is doing it now nonstop.....I would imagine that there is demand, but that the yields would be very poor since the flights connect two primarily leisure/vacation destinations.

Wasn't ALoha going to extend its Hawaii-Mainland service with its 73Gs from Oakland and Orange County onto Las Vegas? Did this happen, or was it shelved due to the events of 9/11?

Yes, Aloha has been operating Hawaii-Mainland flights with 73NG, when I was in Vegas in mid-July this summer I saw a couple, if you go to a flight tracker you should be able pick up a listing for it.

FedExHeavy, Aloha only has 732's, however, they are ETOPS certified, they don't have any 737NG's. It is a 737-200 Advanced C I think. The flights that they do operate to the mainland are charter. I have seen one at OAK and it says ETOPS certified on the front just like any other ETOPS certified planes.

Aloha does have the 737-700, I believe that have 5 now in their fleet, all of which are leased. The 737-700 is used for the longer range flights to the mainland and some charters to the pacific islands, while the 737-200 fly the inter-island flights. Aloha, in the past, had done some longer-range etops flights to the smaller pacific islands with the 732, on a charter basis I believe.

Las Vegas is the #1 mainland destination for Hawaii residents.
This is the reason why Aloha has 3-4 daily flight to Las Vegas via Oakland and Orange County. Hawaiian also has 2 daily DC-10 flights to LAS. One is a scheduled service flight via Los Angeles while the other is a nonstop from HNL that is sold as a charter.

While undoubtably LAS does have low yields from Hawaii it is a large market.

Las Vegas is a destination of choice for many Hawaii residents. Currently there are no nonstop scheduled flights, though Hawaiian does run several DC-10 charters a week nonstop on behalf of Vacations Hawaii (a travel agency set up by Boyd Gaming, a company that runs some of the downtown Vegas casinos most popular with Hawaii residents). Omni Air International also operates nonstop charter flights, on behalf of MLT Vacations (which is affiliated with Northwest Airlines). In addition, Hawaiian runs daily one-stop direct flights (via LAX) to LAS, and once a week, another of the HNL-LAX flights continues to LAS. Finally, Aloha's HNL-OAK, HNL-SNA, and OGG-OAK flights all continue to LAS. I imagine that the other major airlines offer connecting service to LAS from HNL.

I know Hawaiian does,I saw them there last month. Operated with a DC-10-10,as 'Hawaiian 3 Heavy'.Quite a sight - and increasingly rare - to see a loaded -10 taking off in 100f degree weather!

If you saw Hawaiian 3 Heavy, then it wasn't really all that loaded. That flight goes from LAS to LAX before heading to HNL. The flight usually isn't that full on the LAS-LAX segment.
