Delta Meal Will Change

Sun Oct 21, 2001 7:34 am

Hi:

Delta Air Lines said this today that due to dramatically lower demand for air travel following Sept.11 terrorist attacks on the US and resulting unprecedented financial losses, the company plans to modify certain of its products and service element offered to customers.
On November 1st Delta will begin serve food in US continental flights of more than 1750 miles in the economy cabin (aproximately four hours) and on flights of more than 700 miles in first class cabin. The customer will continue to receive beverages service on all flights. Delta Shuttle meal service will remain.

Delta will continue to offer meal service on international flights while also continuing to provide a competitive, high quality premium Business Elite product.

Delta will also continue to review its product and service offering to customers based on prevailing conditions of the industry.

It is a shame that US airlines are saving money by cutting meals on long ways. So far I always had the worst service on Delta domnestic flights, compare to other US airlines. It is a shame to sit 3 hours in a plane or longer and you will get nothing than just a drink or peanuts. European airlines are also in financial troubles but there is no way about cutting meals on longer flights.
Greetings
Mike
