WN flew some 722's in the late 70s/early 80s. Just short term. Should be pics on Anet.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Wanna Know Why?

Southwest won a court case against Braniff and Texas International. Those two airlines did everything they could possibly think of to put Southwest out of business. Southwest won the court case and Braniff either gave them the 727-200's to pay them off or maybe it was a lease deal, but it was due to Southwest winning a court case against Braniff and Texas International. I don't know what TI did to pay Southwest for losing their part of the case...........Texas International eventually was ran by Frank Lorenzo.....the rest is history..........

Notice the tail number on the first plane, it ends in BN, which is Braniff's two-letter code. I have no idea why they leased the 727 from People's Express though. I'd never seen that photo before. Neat !

Southwest operated 7 different 727s in the past. 1 -291 & 6 -227s. The sole -291 was operated in 1979-80, and the -227s were used in 1983 to 1985. Regards.
