I've flown about 100 segments on Mesaba ARJ-85s since I started working here. And I LOVE them!! The passengers rave on them.
The best seats are definitely the first two rows in first class. In the third or fourth rows, engines pretty much block everything from view.
In coach the best row is the very last. There is a little more leg room and you also get an unobstructed view. Anywhere past row ten you're okay as far as the view, but the further back you get, the less distortion and blurriness you get via the engines. And, in the back, you can actually watch those enormous flaps go down (along with that famous groan) before landing.
In coach (if you can't get an upgrade) sit in 15A or 15F.
Great plane. Powerful takeoffs. Smooth as silk landings.
It's kinda loud in the back, tho.
But I like that.
Nature forms us for ourselves, not for others; to be, not to seem.
