LGB-IAD was pushed back and is now expected to start sometime in the Spring of 2002. Additional destinations have not been announced, though if you look through the press releases on their web site I believe they did at one point list various cities they were considering serving from LGB.

jetBlue will be adding a day flight from JFK that arrives at LGB at 2:45pm and leaves LGB at 3:45 with puts the arrival into JFK just before midnight east coast time. Their load factor has gone up a lot since 9/11 and I heard they may discontinue ONT service and concentrate on LGB instead. For any news on LGB or Southern California, check out: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/socalairportspotters - It has news and updates from spotters around the So Cal area.
