Aircraft Error On UA Commercial?

Mon Oct 29, 2001 12:53 pm

I was watching the Yankees/Diamondbacks game and at the end of the top of the first inning there was a UA commercial with a female flight engineer. She was talking about the different planes UA flies. And she said "737, 757, then seven-five-seven." Like it was a different aircraft than the 757. Did anyone else see this?

I saw it too and I caught that bit. I think all of United's commercials now are a hokey attempt to make us feel good...

No mention of the vaunted Airbus? Hmm.

No I believe she said "seven seventy seven".

Also what's with the Airbus Captain, it would have been nice if they got a Boeing pilot with the patriotism now.

Often at United, we refer to the boeings as "seven-x-seven" where the "x" would be the word for the number. So, it would be the "seven-five-seven" or the "seven-two-seven." Catch my drift.

Thank you for flying United  Smile

What do you mean by we? You work for United? Almost everyone refers to Boeings that way. Seven fifty seven or seven five seven.....split about 50/50

I've lately gotten into the habit of shortening Boeing names even more... I'll say a seven-five, a seven-six, etc... 717 will be seventeen...etc etc.... Many ppl in the industry say it similarly.
buhh bye

I have too noticed that little language difference...it seems most people in the south say 7-thirty-7 or so forth..I do the same...except the 777...7-seventy-7 sounds kind of odd, doesnt flow like the others do heh.=)
