Shuttle Service By US Based Airlines In Europe

Mon Oct 29, 2001 9:53 pm

Hello,

Are there still US based airliners that have shuttle service here in Europe ?
Like United,TWA and Panam had several 727's based in Europe some years ago for that reason.

Is it also common in other parts of the world ?

Thanks in advance for your usefull replies.

Iberia used to have some aircraft stationed in the Carib.

Most or all such flights are now operated more cheaply as codeshares with partner airlines in the area (NWA from Schiphol to Maastricht anyone?).
I wish I were flying

Iberia has 4 A319s based in MIA for routes to Latin America/Carribean etc. Air France has an A320 and two ERJ-145s, for Air Caribes. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Otherwise, I don't think airlines have a/c based in other countries like in the past.
