This Photo Deserves A Gold Frame! New #1 Favorite!

Wed Oct 31, 2001 5:22 pm

I just spent 15 solid minutes examining this sensational piece of photography by Mr. Taperell. And I've come to the inescapable conclusion that this has now got to be the all-time best picture thus far put into the Airliners.net database!! ...........

Anybody want to jump on my bandwagon and agree??

Just take a gander at it for a minute or two. Note how it was snapped a split second after liftoff.....but 1 (perhaps 2) wheels still have contact with the concrete. (Must have rotated with a pretty decent crosswind, forcing the right wing up slightly.)

Love the colors too. How can you beat it! This might become my permanent wallpaper!

Jason T. is coming dangerously close to A. Hunt for best lensman on this site (my opinion only, of course  Smile)!!

Here are 2 other beauties recently snapped by Jason.......

I'm sure this "All-Time Favorite Photo" subject has been beaten to death in past days on A.Net......but perhaps not recently. So, I'd like to see you post what you feel is the best pic on this site......
Topping Jason T.'s Dragonair Boeing 743 is not going to be easy though!

Well, yes.....I put it up deep inside an unrelated topic on the B747. Is that what you meant??

Or did someone else post it as an orig. topic??

Sorry to repeat if this is the case.....

(But, then again, WHO could see TOO much of it??  Smile/happy/getting dizzy)

Definitely all-time top ten stuff!!! You can't discuss pictures like this one too much, especially after what happened yesterday afternoon here in the forum (you all know what I mean).
I know it's only VfB but I like it!

Do you lot take these pics on Digital Cameras or normal cameras with film and just scan them in?

I'm 100% digital now but I used to do film.

The digital is much more convenient - preview your images straight away, get 100s of frames on a CF card, delete anything you don't like, no film and developing costs, all lenses 60% greater focal length etc.

It's the only way to go.

the only problem with it is that it is a cargo a/c. i just think that the word CARGO always ruins an a/cs livery.
Don't ask why, i just do.

Yeah but the lucky bastard has a D30.

It has been discussed a billion times, thanks to the wonders of spot metering it was exposed just right!

Of course, the photographer does alot.... doesn't he? Jason?

My desktop picture was taken with a camera that i want, and its probably the best on the database IMO.

you might not like it, but with a £500 camera it ain't half bad:
