Cathay and PAL will codeshare HK-Cebu
Cathay Pacific Airways and Philippine Airlines (PAL) will codeshare on services between Hong Kong and Cebu from 5 November.
Cathay will operate the daily service on which PAL will also sell seats and affix its own flight code, says Cathay in a statement.
Without the agreement the future of the service would be in doubt. Both carriers decided a codeshare was the best way to preserve the link between bustling Hong Kong and laid back Cebu, says Cathay.
“This agreement will help both airlines reach more customers through their combined network of offices,” says Cathay’s director sales and marketing James Barrington in the statement.
Both carriers have been cutting flights in recent weeks and shifting capacity to routes were traffic is more resilient.
