I fly mostly long haul...
LH has excellent food in business with a series of special menus executed by the most famous chefs in the world ( outbound from Germany) that is really exceptional in quality and creativity ( tuna sashimi with chutney as appetizer for example).
Their first is awesome with a DOUBLE round of severuga caviar with blinis and at least 4 condiments ( their amouse bouche appetizers are VERY yummy).
The wine selection by world champion Marcus Del Monego is stunninf considering the pressurization of the cabin and the flight attendants are trained in the wines selection and when you are not sure of what you would like they let you try all of them
35.000 feet degustations!!!( although also Finnair in biz has a great cellar, multiawarded).
Other great food was with CX in biz ( I love that they serve from the cart and you can actually see what the offers are) and then canapes and the first class style personalized catering is super.
Sabena to US was ( for the three times I tried it) surprisingly good. They work with young and promising chefs and they were very creative. The catering from US to Europe is generally of inferior quality due to the lest skilled chefs ( I have heard this also from one of the exec managers of LSG that was flying sitting close to me on a leg from JFK to FRA).
I was pleasantly surprised by UA to Portorico last february in economy when I was offered two choices of hot breakfast in economy and it was tasty and quite good.
Love the Do&Co catering of Lauda ( especially their Sacher torte!)
Scandinavian always treats me with fresh salmon with dill and northern delicacies...
SAA: great food ( especially their game) and cool desserts
all those little "sky deli" or whatever name they are called...the carrot and dip and other mystery food of AA,DL, CO domestic...
I LOVE food!!!!!
