Boeing And EL AL Could Start New Security Firm

Mon Nov 05, 2001 8:11 am

The article says that Boeing and Israeli airline EL AL have discussed starting an airport security firm together. To me this makes tremendous sense and could provide extra revenue for the lumbering middle eastern airline.

EL AL has tremendous brand recognition in regards to high security and safety and Boeing has the money and technical expertise. I would like the two to go into business and start a first rate airport security firm that could replace some of the lousy screeners American airport now rely on like ITS, Gateway, Spectaguard, Worldwide, Argenbright, and Summit, amongst others.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Virgin have some kind of contract services security firm?
