Gtks Rossiya To Get A Tu-214

Mon Nov 05, 2001 10:12 am

It has been reported that GTKS Rossiya (the VIP transport company which operates Putin's Il-96-300, etc) is to take a single Tu-214 on a leasing deal (probably involving Financial Lease Company). There are only 2 Tu-214s being operated at the present time, both with Dalavia of Khabarovsk, and that airline is extremely pleased with the aircraft.

In late August, Dalavia announced that they would be ordering an additional 6 Tu-214s:

although it seems that they are having some problems financing the aircraft, which is probably why GTKS Rossiya will be taking an aircraft (gotta help the industry in some way I suppose).

The short report I read didn't mention any delivery date, or even whether it is actually confirmed, but all indicators point to that it is indeed a correct report.

Will post more as it comes to light; hopefully not too far in the distant future.

Also, regarding the Tu-214. Does anyone have any idea who this company is? http://www.amaholdings.com. They have very detailed information on the Tu-214 (amongst other aircraft), but emails to the company have gone unanswered for the best part of a year. A whois on the domain shows up as:

Aviation Manufacturers Alliance Holdings Corporation (AMAHOLDINGS-DOM)
P.O. Box 66058
Auburndale, MA 02466-0002

but trying to find further information on this company has turned up blank.

Any info on this company would also be appreciated.

Cheers

Scotty
