I just looked on the OAG and noticed what appears to be a new American Eagle destination. San Slavador (ZSA), Bahamas, operated every Saturday in both directions (AA5109) from MIA. Is this a new flight? I have never heard of it.
I remember American Eagle used to have flights down there a few years back, I'm guessing they are at it again. About two months ago we (Gulfstream-Co Connection) flew a charter from MIA to ZSA and back with a 1900 and a Dash 7 for Club Med. I hope Eagle does well down there.
If this route opens (I don't think so), then American Eagle will have to fly ERJ, and not an ATR turbopropeller, because it will be a 4 hour trip and the competition (Taca and Iberia) would be a 2 hour trip.
Juanchito: I think the topic is referring to San Salvador in the Bahamas, not El Salvador.
Besides, AA already flies mainline to El Salvador, and if they wanted extra coach capacity they could just upgrade the equipment.
