What Led To Sabena's Demise?

Wed Nov 07, 2001 2:02 am

As another airline goes under in these turbulent times, I wanted to see what the chain of events was that led Sabena to go under like this. I know the SAir Group purchase was somewhat of a detriment, as were the recent attacks of 9/11. But for an airline to have a very new fleet, changing paint jobs, etc.? What are the causes (short and long term) that led to this?

Any info appreciated!
