BusinessWorld (Philippines); Nov 8, 2001

Starting this month, multi-awarded Asiana Airlines (OZ) will partner with Singapore Airlines in its latest fully reciprocal frequent flyer agreement. Asiana launched partnerships with Cathay Pacific Airways earlier this year and also became a member of Asia Miles, one of the largest global travel business alliances.

Under the agreement, Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer and Asiana Club members will benefit with mileage points earned on either partner's routes. Both programs' members can also redeem these miles on either airline.

"Asiana Club members also earn a 50% mileage bonus whenever they fly First Class and 25% on Business Class on every Singapore Airlines route as well," explained Asiana Airlines general manager for passenger Rene Banzon.

Asiana Club members will find a mileage chart for Singapore Airlines awards that can be earned in their latest publication issue available at the Asian ticket counter in Makati. From Europe to Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and throughout Asia, Asiana Club members will be enjoying more destinations and earning free flights faster with this new partnership.

In celebration of the Singapore Airlines agreement, Asiana is offering an introductory "World's Best Partnership" bonus for club members on every round-trip flight on Singapore Airlines anywhere in the world. From November until Dec. 15, Asiana Club members can simply present their card upon check-in at a Singapore Airlines flight and earn bonus miles at the end of the round-trip itinerary.

Economy class passengers earn an additional 1,000 bonus miles, Business Class earns 2,000 bonus miles while First Class earns 3,000 bonus miles on accruable fares during this promo period.

Asiana Airlines is the 2001 Passenger Service of the Year awardee of industry observer Air Transport World. The Korean national carrier is also part of the Visit Korea Year 2001 celebration and offers package tours for every budget in numerous destinations around the country.
