Once Canadians get home tonight and turn on their evening newscasts, they'll find themselves looking on as commentators debate what the government should do in the aftermath of the Canada 3000 shutdown.
Some will suggest a low-key approach of allowing Air Canada and Westjet to fill in the voids, and then make other reforms cautiously as the dust settles.
Some will say (as has been discussed on this forum) that foreign carriers should be allowed into Canada in some way, noting changes made in the European Union and Australia.
Some, particularly from the unions, will say that it is time to re-regulate the industry with controls on routes, fares and capacity. Or even to re-nationalise Air Canada.
So, where do we go from here?
