National Airlines To Add 2nd Type, Shorter Routes

As part of National's reorganization plan submitted to bankruptcy court in Vegas today, they outlined plans to add a second smaller aircraft type.

Any speculation as to what it may be?

I've heard MD-90s...but those were just rumors.

I happen to think National is a great airline, and they have actually been met with very good loads here in Miami (which goes thrice-daily 14Feb02), but what in the world is the point for a low-fare, small airline to serve Newark AND JFK and Midway AND O'Hare?

MAH4546: The reason is that the airports are on different sides of the city It's similar to ATA and AirTran serving both FLL and MIA, or B6 and WN serving FLL and PBI.
